32 Coaches Completed Futsal Course
BINTULU: A total of 32 coaches completed a five-day Football coaching refresher and Futsal coaching course at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu campus (UPMKB) last Saturday.
The chairman of the Development and Coaching Committee (JPK) Bintulu Football Association (BIFA), Mohamad Hakimi Man said the football development at the grassroots level would start from coaching in the lower level.
“We are lagging behind in terms of development and coaching compared to our counterpart in Peninsular Malaysia,” he said when representing the BIFA president Lt Duke Janteng.
Thus he said efforts should be taken to develop and hone the talents of the existing coaches and at the same time raised the quality of the coaches in the state.
“And it is very important for small groups of coaches to remain united so that they can transform themselves toward better direction in coaching,” he added.
In another development he urged coaches in Bintulu to register with BIFA so that it would be easier for the association to assign them to organise football clinics for children starting at the age of six. The course was conducted by Gopalan Krisnan, facilitator from the Federal Instructor of Asian Football / Football Association of Malaysia (AFC / FAM).
